The Used

The Used began in Orem Utah in 1998. At the time, the band had four memebers, Jeph Howard, Quinn Allman, Bert McCracken, and Branden Steineckert. With the help of Goldfinger's guitarist John Feldman, they were able to sign with a record label and release their debut and self-titled album, The Used, in 2002. The record had 12 tracks, a hidden track entitled Choke Me, and a recording of a lap dance that Bert recieved for his birthday in London. The used toured for a while and in 2004, they released their follow up record In Love And Death.

The Used toured even more to increase their already huge fanbase and spread their music. After touring, the band went quiet for a while. Then, in late 2006, the band formally announced the departure of long time drummer Branden Steineckert. The reason was never clear, but The Used said that they had decieded to go their seperate ways, and Branden already has a new job with his side project at Unknown Studios and is the drummer of a band named Rancid. The three remaining members stayed trong and with the help of Good Charlotes Dean Butterworth, they recorded their third album, Lies For The Liars. In May of 2007, the new album was released with The Bird and The Worm as the single and the album was a hit. In between The Used and In Love and Death, a DVD / CD was released, it was called Maybe Memories. A second DVD / CD called Berth was released in February of 2007. Both of the DVD / CDs had a live cd to go along with it. Today, Dan Whitesides has been added as the new drummer and The Used as as good as they have ever been.
