Muse

Muse

The members of Muse were in separate bands at Teignmouth Community College in the early 1990s. The formation of Muse began after 14 year old Matthew Bellamy successfully auditioned for the part of guitarist in Dominic Howard's band. They were left with a dilemma when their bassist decided to leave, so they asked close friend Chris Wolstenholme to learn to play the bass guitar.

When I seen the performance of the band in my Country, I felt I was so weak, but when I heard the Butterflies and Hurricanes song I got the inspiration for living life. And until now I like the band, MUSE is a great band

You're all so lucky! I love them, especially the first two albums. They played literally 7 miles away from where I live and they sold out by the time I'd heard about it - was so disappointed.

Hi Aiken. It was the best performance by any band that I have seen this year (and that's a lot of bands and a lot of competition). It's actually the first time I've seen Muse though I've been meaning to since they released Origin of Symmetry, it just
didn't work out until now but it was worth the wait (sort of, I still wish I'd seen them a few years back). But an excellent performance none the less.

PariaH: Was it the best concert you've ever seen or the best of Muse?

I saw Muse last Friday (17th November 2006) at Nottingham Arena. They started with "Take a Bow", the first track on "Black Holes and Revelations", and then proceeded to work their way through the album in exactly the same order as it's recorded. Chris
Wolstenholme sat with his drumkit on a plinth that seemed to be made out of plasma screens and added to the fantastic light show along with another plinth for the piano and a huge backdrop. Dominic Howard was as steady as he ever is, pumping the bass and
vocalising in perfect harmony with Matt Bellamy. Bellamy was faultless, he's an energetic showman at the worst of times but this wasn't the worst of times. He absolutely loves noise and treates the audience to some amazing feedback-driven outros. After
Knights of Cydonia, a big favourite with the crowd, we were then treated to some older stuff. New Born and Plug-in Baby from "Origin of Symmetry" and Stockholme Syndrome and Hysteria from "Absolution". There was also another song that I didn't manage to
identify but I think it's off the "Showbiz" album, if anyone knows what it was then I'd like to know.

This gig was the best gig I've seen all year (and I go to a LOT of gigs). Next time they're in town I'm there, no doubt about it.
