The Day He Died lyrics
Dear son-daddy's never coming back home
He passed on-
Claim him as one of our own my mind's numb-
Nothing has been clearer
Than this-
They found him on the rug at the Golden Gate Inn

And I know-poppa never intended for this
To drag me-down into this bottomless pit
I've been given just about-all i can chew
I think back on love's empty truth
And I feel like the day he died
I feel like the day he died

I walked in-
Cops standing all around
I kneeled down-
His body laying there on the ground-
I begged please, please let me get a minute with him
And they said don't touch anything, kid

It smelt like life-
Just exit the room
I cried to-a shell of a man I once knew
My mind's spinning way out of control
I can't believe it's been three long years ago

Dear son-daddy's never coming back home
I've been numb-
Wish I had the strength to live on-
I can't breathe-
Is there any air
Left in here?

I can't believe-
Everything I hold disappears-
Has gone on-
Time and time again
All alone and dear son
Daddy's never coming back home

Just found out about this band. I'm definitely impressed. Being a musician myself, I listen with different ears than Joe Blow(no offense, Joe!), and I liked it...musically &lyrically speaking!
