Leah Andreone

Born in San Diego in the spring of 1974 into your average American home, Leah was a shy child who found outlet and connection through music, both writing and performing. In many ways notes, melodies and harmonies became her personal language...her own expression for dealing with the world and its touch.

When one thinks and speaks in song, it's no surprise - in fact, quite sensible - that one should follow a musical career. And through a combination of hard work and chance, Leah did just that.

Moving north to Los Angeles, spending lots of time singing around town at night, and working as a waitress during the day allowed her to hone her talent, make connections, and be there when chance offered her opportunity.

The opportunity became her first album, Veiled, released by RCA in 1996. A revealing exploration of self that touched many worldwide, the album produced the hit single "It's Alright, It's Okay" which charted in both the U.S. And Europe. The language that the young woman had used her entire life to face the world became songs that thousands of fans could enjoy, and find comfort and strength in themselves.

Her second album, Alchemy, was a steamier disk. Exploring sexuality and allure, the result was a rich musical experience that crept up on the idea of intimacy, want, and need from many directions. The psychologist that Leah almost became often influences her musical perspective. Her music questions why we feel, act, and think as we do, while enchanting us with its hooks and multilayered imagery. One's enjoyment of Leah's art is limited only by how deep one chooses to look.

Since Alchemy, Leah has continued to write and perform. She is a frequent collaborator with other artists: she finds special energy in working with others and discovering their unique perspectives on the language of music. Taking moments between her own performing and writing, Leah has also moved into the role of producer, and is working to bring the distinctive voices of other artists to the marketplace.

Leah's third album is nearing completion. In it, the listener will hear Leah continue to pry at the edges of "why," and celebrate the joy she finds while doing it. The album's release should happen in the near future. (this biography was posted January, 2007)
