Waiting On The World To Change lyrics
me and all my friends
we're all misunderstood
they say we stand for nothing and
there's no way we ever could
now we see everything that's going wrong
with the world and those who lead it
we just feel like we don't have the means
to rise above and beat it
so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
it's hard to beat the system
when we're standing at a distance
so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
now if we had the power
to bring our neighbors home from war
they would have never missed a Christmas
no more ribbons on their door
and when you trust your television
what you get is what you got
cause when they own the information, oh
they can bend it all they want
that's why we're waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
it's not that we don't care,
we just know that the fight ain't fair
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
and we're still waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
one day our generation
is gonna rule the population
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
we're all misunderstood
they say we stand for nothing and
there's no way we ever could
now we see everything that's going wrong
with the world and those who lead it
we just feel like we don't have the means
to rise above and beat it
so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
it's hard to beat the system
when we're standing at a distance
so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
now if we had the power
to bring our neighbors home from war
they would have never missed a Christmas
no more ribbons on their door
and when you trust your television
what you get is what you got
cause when they own the information, oh
they can bend it all they want
that's why we're waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
it's not that we don't care,
we just know that the fight ain't fair
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
and we're still waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
one day our generation
is gonna rule the population
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

Guest wrote on 6th Jun 2007, 8:44h: Heya I like Pokey1984's view, but I would like to sway "one day we will be the ones with power and then we'll be able to implement them" Perhaps in the conclusion, John was again focusing on behavioural patterns. Meaning either people believe this will happen, or a discreet sunder of motivation.. Until it is time (to me an illusion to keep people thinking a revolution is happening and to again “wait”) Oh and hey no_one! If we are so free on this continent (I say continent because the borders between U.S, Mexico and Canada are about as real as the land between them) then why are corporations and other entities making sure that there is no fair distribution within society? Why do particular highlighted individuals in society lose absolutely everything due to exploiting where their curiosity lead them or concerns? Why do protestors now have “designated zones” where they will never be heard? This can go on and on. How far does freedom go..really? Also, - I hear yah Parrotsie. Cheers! Parrotsie - - "I like the song, because it's about reality, and John Mayer ain't making this up, this is truth. sure, the music is kinda boring, but the lyrics are for real, and that's cool." That’s about as far as I read too. |

Well, as much as I'd love to start some kind of US revolution... things are rather calm here in Canada. I don't believe that there is any kind of meaning behind the message being given flat out in the lyrics. Musicians aren't smart enough for that. Things are bluntly written out. THERE'S NO BETWEEN THE LINES! ((p.s. - For your information, I don't believe anything I just said. I'm just trying to start a riot. Did it work? Did it make you even the least bit angry?)) |

I'm too old to appreciate this cat musically, but the lyrics, hey...read between the lines. The CORVOMENT(corporatio - n/government - ) has you by the ipods. Sit back and enjoy your downfall while Bush, the Saudi's, and China eat your lunch. Ever been hungry? Stay tuned and wait for the world to change. Me? Forget MTV. I've dropped out and turned on- but like heck if I'm going to wait for the world to change! What the who? Revolutions have stormed forward at the drop of a hat. Are you with me? For the record, I can be considered an "Enemy of the State" for this activity. I am a tax paying, flag waving US patriot who says your Uncle Sam is a sickly psychopath (Democrats included) and must be defeated! Are you with me or still "Waiting for the World to Change". Next Question: Paper or Plastic? Who cares, the revolution is here! |
