Lyrics: Not Ready To Make Nice
Not Ready To Make Nice — lyrics
Forgive, sounds good.
Forget, I'm not sure I could.
They say time heals everything,
But I'm still waiting
I'm through, with doubt,
There's nothing left for me to figure out,
I've paid a price, and i'll keep paying
I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down,
I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should
I know you said
Why can't you just get over it,
It turned my whole world around
and i kind of like it
I made my bed, and I sleep like a baby,
With no regrets and I don't mind saying,
It's a sad sad story
That a mother will teach her daughter
that she ought to hate a perfect stranger.
And how in the world
Can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they'd write me a letter
Saying that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over
I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down,
I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should
I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down,
I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should
What it is you think I should
Forgive, sounds good.
Forget, I'm not sure I could.
They say time heals everything,
But I'm still waiting

I think its a perfect song to send to Bush if hes telling them to shutup and sing well that why they say:
Forgive, sounds good.
Forget, I'm not sure I could.
They say time heals everything,
But I'm still waiting
Also they say there mad a hell
so its a great thing to get back at him

This is a great song! Many celebrities have made comments concerning the president, so why were the Dixie Chicks singled out? Everyone has the right to express themselves. The problem is that most people don't. Rock on Natalie.
I love it!!! I think the fact that Bush wrote a letter telling them to shut up and sing or thier life will be over was insane. This is the USA freedom of speech is part of our rights. Bush destroyed this country and the tit baby could'nt handle a public
"dig" so what is he even doing in the white house to begin with?? GROW UP DUST BUNNY BRAIN

Well, that part of the song you're talking about is in responce to a letter someone had wrote them, saying they should "shut up and sing".
I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I don't think it's immature or over-the-edge. I think it's simply
expressing their harship and feelings about the whole incident, which in my opinion, they do a good job of expressing.
Much of love,

Lyrics of song seem like an immature response to 'Bush/America' fallout. Their lyrics say
"And how in the world
Can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they'd write me a letter
Saying that I better shut up and sing"
Isnt
this song just an 'over-the-edge' response at her criticism. Only they wrote a song, not a letter.
