Coldplay
Members:
Chris Martin (Vocals, piano), Jonny Buckland (Guitar), Guy Berryman (Bass), Will Champion (Drums, percussion).
Coldplay was formed in 1996, when Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, Guy Berryman and Chris Martin met each other at UCL in London. Chris and Jonny started the band, and though Will really was a guitarist, he joined Chris and Jonny as a drummer, though he had never played that instrument before. Now all the band needed was a bass player, and Guy joined the three others, and after that they had their first gigs with the name “Starfish”.

Guest wrote on 8th Aug 2008, 1:21h: "It's very rare to find such a raw, passionate talent like Coldplay nowadays. They show that songs don't have to be about sex and don't need profanity to be great." That is true, but I've noticed a good sum of artists and bands that look and sound strikingly similar to Coldplay (and other bands like Oasis or R.E.M., for example)... I think they have a following xD Coldplay is one of my top favorite bands... Their lyrics are never disappointing, the music is expectantly great, and the vocals are always refreshing for me to hear. |

They show that songs don't have to be about sex and don't need profanity to be great. Lyrically, they are poets. Musically, they are innovators. Generally speaking, they are pure geniuses who decided to pick up guitars. |

Guest wrote on 30th Jul 2008, 8:02h: Coldplay? In a word or two? One of the most sublime groups to ever appear in this world. I just saw them live at pemberton fest and I was fifty feet away free center stager at ground level and I will never come down from that show, like I have yet to come down from their 2005 show at GM place in Vancouver. Chris Martin is possed on stage. When I looked up at the big screen it was like extra big life-size animated Chris. It's as though some muisic spirit posses him. I've seen it in other artists. I am a musician and I just think Coldplay are the living f...ing end if you get my drift. Musically, compositionally, recording, pick any aspect of their totallity and for me it's like wow, this is what four humans can do? For me they are a huge inspiration, not just to be a musician but about carrying on in this upside-down, right-side broken, dark and murky world. Stay well, M |

Guest wrote on 2nd Aug 2006, 21:17h: A great, relatively new band, which has conquered the world with their music in no-time. You like Coldplay or you don't, is my experience from talking to other people, but I know I do. |
