How many people on this site like metal anyways?

Well, I do! Depends on what your view on "metal" is though, 'cause it seems that alot of music is put under that genre.
Music I don't really like is hardrock, but alot of people seem to call hardrock and everything else with a guitar just simply "metal" too.

Yeah... and Lordi is one perfect example.

Despite the title of their superhit Hard Rock Hallelujah, the press still refer to them as "the Finnish monster-metal band" sometimes.

Lol, it's never obvious enough for the mainstream media.

Will Metallica still count for metal?
Or has the metalscene evolved to louder music named metal these days?

I love Metallica still. I picked up a guitar because of James and Kirk, and no matter what kind of crap they put out now, I could never diss them in any way. They are true innovators, and the scene would be nowhere near where it is today without this kick ass band.

I like very much metal. My favorites metal groups are ACDC, Metallica and Iron Maiden ^^

Would children of bodom be classified as metal or death metal? Because I love them!
